BaseerahPrivacy policy
Baseerah is made by SAAS GLOBAL INC, Ontario, Canada (“we”). We built Baseerah to need as little of your information as possible. This page explains exactly what happens to it.
The short version
- No account, no ads, no tracking, and no selling or sharing of your data.
- The core of the app (search, verses, hadith) works entirely on your phone, offline.
- Only if you use the optional AI features does your question leave your phone, and we don't keep it.
Using the app offline
When you ask a question with AI features off, the search happens on your device using texts stored in the app. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else.
AI features (optional)
When AI features are on, the app sends the following to our server over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, to produce a summary, suggest a clearer question, or show a tafsir passage:
- your question, and
- the reference numbers of the passages your phone found (for example “Qur'an 2:153”).
We use this only to answer that request. We do not store the content of your questions, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to train AI models. The AI model runs on our own server; your question is not sent to an outside AI company.
You can turn AI features off at any time in Settings. The rest of the app keeps working.
Beta access
Beta testers enter a one-time invite code. The app then receives a random device token that lets it use the AI features within a daily limit. The token isn't linked to your name, email or phone number, and we can't see who you are from it. We keep basic technical records (such as the time of a request, whether it succeeded, and the token) to keep the service secure and within its limits.
Reporting a summary
If you use “Report this summary”, we receive the summary, the passages it cited, the reason you chose, and the device token. Your question is included only if you tick “Include my question”. Reports are kept for up to 90 days so we can improve the app, then deleted.
Feedback by email
If you email us, we receive your email address and message, and use them only to reply and improve Baseerah.
Beta distribution
The beta is distributed through Apple TestFlight and Google Play testing. Apple and Google may collect information under their own privacy policies, for example crash reports or feedback you submit through TestFlight.
This website
baseerah.ca uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party trackers. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to keep it secure and fast.
Where data is processed
Our server is in Ontario, Canada. Connections to it pass through Cloudflare's network.
Children
The beta is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can stop sending anything to us by turning AI features off or uninstalling the app. To ask about, or delete, any information connected to your device token or emails, contact us and we'll help.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top.
